How it Works?

How it Works

  • SafeSigned system consists of three main elements:
  • (Signed) Seal on a Website.
  • Certificate as a Verification Step (when Seal unsigned).
  • Verified Page with additional features.

Signed Seal

Seal is a dynamic Javascript code snippet which is installed on the website. The Seal is shown dynamically and cannot be shown on a phishing, copycat or any other non-authenticated website. SafeSigned system allows three different types of Seals:

  • Rectangle – is fixed on bottom right part of the browser.
  • Classic – can be put anywhere on the website; usually in the sidebar or footer.
  • Notary – the same as Classic but shows additional data.

All Seals can be signed:

When the Seal is signed, the visitor just needs to recognize their own Signature. When the Seal isn't signed, the visitor must click on the Seal to verify. This redirects him to the Certificate via Secure Coded Link (SCL). The visitor should also click on the Seal when it's necessary to make sure the Issuer guarantees the identity of the website owner.

Certificate

The Certificate is a Verification Step in the process. It is only displayed when the visitor clicks on the Seal with a valid Secure Coded Link. It then shows the short version of the verifiable information, a link back to the website, and a link to the Verified Page.

The click on the Seal and click on the "back to website" on the Certificate guarantees that the visitor will land on the correct client's website.

This is not necessary if the Seal is signed.

Verified Page

Verified Page is a standalone website on it's own URL where the system publishes client's information. It has a Certificate's Base Domain under which different clients are published.

Example:

  • Certificate's Base Domain: certificate-name.safesigned.com
  • Client's Verified Page: certificate-name.safesigned.com/client/
  • URL: https://certificate-name.safesigned.com/client/

All three elements can be completely customized and designed to the Issuer's graphic appearance.
